Fusion Health is seeking a bright, motivated, and outgoing Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Information Technology team at our Woodbridge, NJ office location! This candidate will participate in dynamic and challenging projects to enhance our cloud infrastructure in Azure and build it to support IaC and serverless applications. This role looks like...
The IT DevOps team is vital to our organization’s mission and growth. As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable cloud environments to support our Azure-based EHR solutions. You will lead cloud migration initiatives, develop CI/CD pipeline automation, and set Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices for client environments. This position requires a strong technical background in Azure, DevOps, and cloud security, along with the ability to build and mentor a team to drive success across our cloud initiatives.

Environment Configuration & Infrastructure Management:
- Design and build secure, best-practice Azure cloud environments with Resource Groups, VNETs, subnets, and autoscaling capabilities.
- Deploy and optimize IIS VMs with redundancy and autoscaling to meet high-performance demands.

Advanced Azure Tools & Feature Management:
- Implement and manage Azure components, including Application Gateway with IP whitelisting, App Container Services, Service Bus, Azure SQL, Data Factory, Logic Apps, and Traffic Manager.
- Configure environments for containerized applications, incorporating DevOps automation to streamline deployments.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation:
- Develop and maintain IaC solutions using Terraform to enable repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management, including CI/CD pipeline configuration with GitLab, Octopus Deploy, and other DevOps tools.

Monitoring, Security, & Compliance:
- Implement robust monitoring at the application, process, and resource levels to ensure high performance and security.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for data protection.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Build and manage a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Oversee performance management, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and develop team capabilities in Azure DevOps and cloud-native architectures.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
- Document architectures, configurations, and best practices for scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Champion knowledge sharing within the team and across departments, ensuring best practices are consistently applied.

Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5-7+ years of Azure experience, with advanced skills in secure, optimized cloud architectures.
- Proven success in building and managing high-performance engineering teams.

Technical Expertise:
- Senior to expert-level proficiency in Azure services, with skills in Application Gateway, App Container Services, Service Bus, Data Factory, Logic Apps, and Traffic Manager.
- Strong IaC skills using Terraform, along with DevOps automation experience using tools like GitLab and Octopus Deploy.
- Background in cloud security best practices, including firewall configurations, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and iDP.

- Effective communicator with strong documentation, presentation, and knowledge-sharing abilities.
- Team-building and mentorship experience with a commitment to fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.

Certifications & Development Mindset:
- Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400) are preferred.
- Interest in modern cloud methodologies such as Microservices and Serverless is a plus.
Additional Details:
- This is an on-site (hybrid), full-time, salaried position at our Woodbridge, NJ office location. Our normal hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
