The Application Analyst will serve as an intermediate level functional expert and is responsible for the workflow configurations, support, and any on-going build efforts including upgrades, and modifications for EPIC Prelude/Cadence and other applications required by the healthcare system. This position will also be responsible for specific aspects of assigned projects, will research system problems, refer problems as required to vendors, assist in training users on assigned software and will work with various departments to ensure satisfaction with their systems. The Application Analyst provides outstanding customer service and contributes to the organization's mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care and ensure revenue integrity.


  1. Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned applications and department functions
  2. Install EPIC applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications
  3. Communicate configurations and application settings to key stakeholders
  4. Assist with determining how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users:
    • Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements
    • Evaluate the operational workflow applied to the system
    • Create system specifications from user requirements
  5. Coordinate workflow documentation and integration with applications collaborating with key stakeholders and operational subject matter experts
  6. Participate in the planning and implementation of system infrastructure changes (change control, system upgrades, copy/restore events, application of service packs, downtimes)
  7. Participate in full life-cycle system testing; develop test scripts, coordinate the setup of the testing environment, execute testing scripts, identify issues, and coordinate issue resolution
  8. Collaborate with the Epic Cogito and reporting team to develop and support requested reporting for key stakeholders
  9. Lead demonstrations of applications and functionalities within applications to peers, end users and leaders
  10. Coordinate the deployment of changes and environmental readiness in support of work efforts following defined COA Change Control workflows
  11. Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users
  12. Maintain system protocols – adhering to best practices of COA and the industry
  13. Participate in policy and procedure development as it relates to security, downtime, backup operations and disaster recovery activities.
  14. Administer application-level security and access controls in conjunction with IT Provisioning team
  15. Provide timely, effective, and professional customer support
  16. Provide application troubleshooting support EPIC and other applications. Resolve the issue, forward it to the correct group for remediation, or elevate it to the vendor if required
  17. Create, monitor, and work, assigned incidents to resolution. Initiates and coordinates troubleshooting with team members and peers for known issues
  18. Perform regular on call rotation and coverage as assigned
  19. Cross trains and mentors new team members and end user
  20. Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain credentials
  21. Perform all other related duties as assigned

Preferred:


  • College degree or relevant experienceΒ 
  • 3-5 years healthcare experience in revenue cycle or patient access
  • Epic certification in one of the revenue cycle applications; Cadence, Resolute, or HIM
