EMR Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EMR Specialist to join our team at Chicago Family Health Center. As a EMR Specialist, you will be responsible for the implementation, training, and ongoing support of multi-service clinical software applications used in the clinical ambulatory setting. You will work under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer and collaborate with other identified information technology team members to ensure the smooth functioning of the clinical software applications.


Responsibilities:

Electronic Medical Records Maintenance/Training

  • Serve as the Coordinator for all multi-service clinical software applications and all associated modules and software systems.  
  • Consult with the service lines and their staff in customizing software and training individuals in the daily operation of the packages as well as how the packages integrate with each other.  
  • Provides training on current software applications, new features and conducts training for new users; Emphasizes timeliness, accuracy, security and the impact of various functions on other clinical applications.
  • Collaborates with the other information technology team members with responsibility for a broad range of activities surrounding the implementation of a comprehensive, standardized integrated health care information system. 
  • Analyzes and evaluates processes related to information flow.  
  • Serves as liaison between service lines concerning these processes. Acquires a comprehensive knowledge of the software involved to determine what are procedural issues versus system/application deficiencies.  
  • Assists staff in the efficient use of the current software. Serves on clinical teams, wherever and whenever management determines the skills and talents of the incumbent would be best utilized.
  • Promotes an atmosphere that encourages enthusiasm and user participation in clinical computing while stressing the importance of data validity and data security.  

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in information systems, health information management or related field, required. 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience working in healthcare that promotes a high level of credibility with clinical professionals
