Job Summary:


This position is responsible for training, assisting, and supporting clinical staff in the use of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) as it pertains to patient care and data collection This position requires the ability to foster and maintain positive and close working relationships with providers and clinical staff in all departments as well as provide ongoing updates, training, and feedback to clinical staff regarding best use of the EMR.


Job Duties:



  1. Works with providers, residents, managers, nurses and support staff to assess and recommend clinical workflow changes and application enhancements for increased operational consistency and efficiency.

  2. Works with Director of Clinical Informatics (DCI) and providers to review and improve workflow efficiency through use of the EHR application.

  3. Works with DCI on customization and configuration of clinical modules for increased efficiency of clinicians’ time and improvement in quality of patient care with input from the EMR work group.

  4. Solicits feedback on development, functionality, upgrades, planned downtime and application and device performance.

    1. Assists with trouble shooting system issues.



  5. Assists the DCI in orientation of new staff members including training, updating, and assuring basic clinical competencies with the EMR.  Provides IT support on site to employees when possible.

  6. Enters and updates provider schedules in EMR daily.       

    1. Stays in constant communication with Clinic Administrator and Residency Coordinator on status of changes.



  7. Adheres to all health Center personnel and clinical policies, procedures, and protocols.

  8. Responsible for the daily adherence to maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

  9. Participates in meetings as requested.

  10. Other activities and projects as assigned.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Must be able and willing to travel as needed, have dependable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of automobile insurance.

Qualifications

Education and Experience



  1. Associate degree.

  2. 3-5 years of clinical health care experience including use of an electronic health record. 

  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to teach in both individual and group settings.
