Position Purpose


Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Excellence, the Clinical Trainer is responsible for supporting high quality and safe care by developing and providing training to clinical staff on an ongoing basis. Clinical training content is guided by internal clinical practice guidelines as well as service standards, as applicable. The Clinical Trainer will develop and manage tools used for training and instruction. The Clinical Trainer will provide training to groups and individuals based on needs identified by organizational priorities and internal audits. 


 


The scope of the Clinical Trainer includes clinical areas such as medical, dental, social services, and behavioral health services. The Clinical Trainer partners with members of the Health Services Optimization team and national program leaderships in developing training tools. Additionally, the Clinical Trainer will collaborate with the Epic Optimization Specialist to address training initiatives as required. 


 


Essential Functions



  • Contribute to the design of the Vivent Health training cycle by leveraging ideas from proven/established learning frameworks.

  • Support the cycle of training and competency maintenance including: 

  • Providing seamless support for the pre-training, training, and post-training phases.

  • Identification of training needs at a system, departmental, and individual level.

  • Design and development of training courses in collaboration with subject matter experts.

  • Development and successful execution of actionable and measurable learning objectives.

  • Identification and use of appropriate platform/delivery method for trainings.

  •  Support staff in the connection and translation of training material into practice.

  •  Inform the design of onboarding training plans for new hires in clinical settings.

    •  Track the completion of initial and recurring training topics consistent with established timelines.

    •  Promote best practice through staff development and education to promote patient safety and achieve high quality clinical outcomes.

    • Follow established procedures to ensure standardization, evaluate proficiency of all functional clinical team members, and document clinical readiness.



  • Collaborate closely with the Health Services Optimization and ERC Learning & Development teams to coordinate and address training needs.

  • Ensure compliance, regulatory requirements, and/or accreditation standards are included in trainings as applicable.


 


Qualifications



  •  Associates or Bachelor’s degree in nursing, education, or other healthcare related area AND minimum of 3 years of work experience as a hands-on clinical trainer, instructor, or similar roles.  

  • Or in lieu of degree at least 6 years working as a clinical trainer or similar role in a medical ambulatory clinic setting. 

  • 2 years demonstrated experience with instructional design, methodologies and principles.

  •  High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smart Sheets, and Share Point, data management and/or experience using electronic health records like Epic. 

  • Ability to meet travel requirement, up to 30%.


 


Salary:


Salary range: $70,645/annually - $80,000/annually (Depending on Experience)
