The Applications Analyst II – Cerner Scheduling will leverage their expertise in Cerner Millennium Scheduling to support system maintenance, enhancements, and troubleshooting. This role focuses on providing technical application support across multiple environments, with a primary emphasis on Cerner Millennium Scheduling and its associated functionality. The Analyst will work with clients and teams to resolve system issues, ensure system functionality, and deliver exceptional customer service. This position requires strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills and operates under general supervision.
Key Responsibilities:

Support Cerner Millennium Scheduling: Maintain and enhance the Cerner Millennium Scheduling suite, including troubleshooting, updates, fixes, and project support (on-call and off hours).

System Configuration & Testing: Build, modify, evaluate, test, and maintain Cerner Millennium Scheduling functionality, including resources, appointment books, appointment types, Orders to Scheduling, and associated rules.

Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot system issues to resolution and provide high-quality, timely customer service; escalate issues to vendors as needed and monitor vendor responses.

On-Call Support: Provide after-hours, on-call support to resolve system issues as required.

Collaboration: Work with client users and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, address issues, and ensure system performance aligns with client needs.

Change Management: Adhere to change management processes for system updates, including break fixes and enhancements.

System Testing: Perform system testing to validate functionality, ensuring all product features work as designed.

Documentation: Document user requirements, system functionality, and build activities, including vendor specifications, integration testing, and version control.

Enhancements: Assist in translating user needs into system feature enhancements and collaborate with system administrators for requests.

Clinical Process Alignment: Ensure system support aligns with best practices in clinical and operational workflows.

Independent Decision Making: Exercise independent judgment to assess situations and determine appropriate courses of action.

Multi-Tasking: Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and adjust to evolving priorities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

Cerner Expertise: Proven experience in Cerner Millennium Scheduling build, maintenance, and support.

Healthcare IT Experience: 2-3 years of application analysis and coordination or 5+ years of professional/technical experience in clinical workflow/operations or clinical systems support.

Scheduling & Revenue Cycle Experience: In-depth knowledge of Cerner Millennium Scheduling (Cerner Surgical Scheduling experience preferred). Experience with other Cerner Millennium Revenue Cycle applications (e.g., Registration, Charge Services, Patient Accounting) is a plus.

Upgrade Experience: Participation in Cerner upgrades is advantageous.

Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.

Experience: 2-3 years of professional experience in a computing environment with progressive responsibility and 2-3 years of experience in Cerner Millennium Scheduling build, maintenance, support, and troubleshooting.

Scheduling Knowledge: Experience with acute and ambulatory scheduling processes is preferred.

Certifications: Cerner certifications are a plus.

Ticket Management Systems: Familiarity with ServiceNow ticket management system preferred.

Healthcare Experience: Previous experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
